Portland Firefighters To Get New Boots, Thanks To Grant
The Portland Fire Department will distribute its new boots to firefighters at Bramhall Fire Station.

The Portland Fire Department will distribute its new boots to firefighters at Bramhall Fire Station, 784 Congress Street, on Friday, December 13 at 1:00 PM. The new boots are thanks to a grant from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.

On Monday, November 4, 2019, the Portland City Council accepted a $20,950 grant award from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation. The grant was awarded to the Portland Fire Department for the purchase of 50 pairs of Globe Firefighting Boots.
At the time, Chief Keith Gautreau said, “This grant from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation is greatly appreciated, it will allow us to provide top quality firefighting footwear to our members. The mission of the Foundation is to provide lifesaving equipment and educational opportunities to first responders and public safety organizations, and we are fortunate to have been selected for this grant award.”

Portland Firefighters had to be fitted for the new boots before they could be delivered.
