Racial Equity Steering Committee Hosting Final Live Public Comment Session On March 4 In Portland City
Ensuring that all people get a fair and equitable chance to lead a high quality of life that is not predicted by race.

The Racial Equity Steering Committee (RESC) would like to learn about your concerns, ideas, and recommendations regarding how the City of Portland addresses public safety and racial equity. The Committee is hosting its final remote public comment session on Thursday, March 4 from 5 PM to 6 PM. The RESC is asking the public: 1) What public safety issue or problem should the RESC address?; 2) What solutions or recommendations do you have to address this problem?

For reference, the RESC is using the following as its working definition of "public safety." Public safety is:
- Protecting the wellbeing of people of all races & ethnicities, communities, and organizations.
- Safeguarding people from crimes, disaster, and other potential dangers and threats, and reducing fear.
- Ensuring that all people get a fair and equitable chance to lead a high quality of life that is not predicted by race.
