UCU Announces Employee Financial Counseling Certifications
CUNA Financial Counseling Certifications equip credit union staff with the skills and knowledge to guide members to financial security

ORONO, Maine – University Credit Union is pleased to announce three Campus Branch Managers have successfully completed the Financial Counseling Certification Program (FiCEP) through the Credit Union National Association, the most influential financial services trade association and the only national association that advocates on behalf of all of America's credit unions.
“With certified financial counselors on staff, credit unions are better able to help those experiencing financial difficulties [and] demonstrate the credit union difference,” according to CUNA’s website.
“We’ve found that, often, members ask for help with understanding their financial situation, especially those new to managing their own finances for the first time,” said Stacey Young, Assistant Vice President of Retail Services at UCU. “We are focused on providing this help at any stage in life, and having three employees with the FiCEP distinction allows us to best provide this.”
