• Updated: Vehicle Slams Into Parking Lot in Rockland, Rolls on Its Side (midcoastvillager.com) — A serious crash in a Rockland parking lot sent three people to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after an SUV's brakes apparently failed and the vehicle flipped onto its side near Bangor Savings Bank and Breakwater Marketplace. Four vehicles were damaged as Rockland fire, EMS, and police responded, freeing the elderly driver and treating passengers, all of whom were wearing seatbelts.
• Massachusetts man sought by Maine State Police on drug charges (wmtw.com) — A Rockland woman, 57-year-old Ruth Crandall, faces drug charges after a Skowhegan traffic stop where state police say they seized about 354 grams of suspected crack cocaine. Two other people, including a Massachusetts man now wanted on an arrest warrant, were also implicated as authorities ask the public for tips on his whereabouts.
• Pilot Lost Engine Power Before Deadly Crash in Bristol (midcoastvillager.com) — A recent federal report details how a small plane headed for Knox County Regional Airport in Rockland lost engine power before crashing during an emergency landing attempt in Bristol. The pilot, who had diverted toward Rockland after noticing low oil pressure, died at the scene, while his son survived with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
