• Fatal crash on Chadbourne Road in Standish (newportdispatch.com) — A deadly head-on collision on Chadbourne Road in Standish early Friday left the sedan driver dead and three people in a tow truck seriously injured but stable at Maine Medical Center. Cumberland County deputies, Standish Fire and EMS, and neighboring departments responded to the fiery crash, and investigators say speed appears to be an initial factor as they work to reconstruct what happened.
   

• With rate hike in flux, Central Maine Power delays Baldwin-area infrastructure project (pressherald.com) — Central Maine Power has paused its Baldwin-area grid upgrade while regulators weigh a major rate hike that could raise typical bills by about $7 a month. Standish Town Manager Tashia Pinkham says the town does not support CMP's proposed temporary increase and wants a thorough state review before any higher rates take effect, even as thousands of nearby customers await reliability improvements.
