9-Year-Old Found After Search, Police Say

The boy disappeared on Wednesday after school, according to the Aberdeen Police Department.

ABERDEEN, MD — The 9-year-old boy who was reported missing in Aberdeen Wednesday has been found, according to police.

Officials said they found Elias Brooks after a search that included Maryland State Police K-9 and aviation officers, Aberdeen police and Harford County deputies.

"This was a total team effort," police said in a statement.

Elias Brooks was last seen after school playing on the grounds of George D. Lusby Elementary in the 800 block of Edmund Street in Aberdeen, according to police. Authorities said he had a history of running away.

Police issued a lookout for the 9-year-old Wednesday night, stating he may be in the area of the Hillsdale community. When last seen, he had reportedly been wearing black and blue jeans with holes, black and blue Nike shoes, a gray hoodie, and a black shirt.
