Leading the charge for the Eagles, senior guard Deandre Henson scored 22 points. The Eagles outscored Atholton 23 to 13 in the last quarter but still couldn't close the gap.

"If we take away some missed opportunities, then we would have won the game," said Henson.

The Eagles will face talented opponents down the road with two games against rival Edgewood and a nonconference game against City College.

"Not being sharp and poor execution cost us the game. Sometimes, it's just part of playing early December basketball," said Eagles coach Richard Hart after the game.
