Aberdeen Proving Ground Hosts Oktoberfest

APG welcomes the public on post for a German-themed celebration.

ABERDEEN, MD - From Aberdeen Proving Ground: Join Aberdeen Proving Ground for a wunderbar celebration of all things German at APG’s annual Oktoberfest! The largest Oktoberfest in APG’s history, the celebration kicks off Thursday, September 28 and runs through Saturday, September 30. The traditional keg tapping ceremony, hosted by Maj. Gen. Randy Taylor, Senior Commander, kicks off the celebration at 3 p.m. on Thursday, September 28.

The event is open to the public and will include local craft beers, entertainment and activities for the whole family, and authentic German food. Admission is $5 a day or $12 for 3-day pass; children under 16 are free.
Timeline: Thursday, September 28: 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday, September 29: 2-9 p.m. Saturday, September 30: 9 a.m.-9 p.m.

Getting on post: Community members over the age of 18 will be allowed to access the installation with a state or U.S. government-issued ID card such as a driver's license, state ID card, passport or any other form of U.S. government-issued ID. Ages 17 and younger do not require ID cards. Once on post, signs will direct attendees to parking and to the Oktoberfest grounds.
