Ali Tabrizchi, D.O., and Amir Najafi, M.D., Named 2015 Top Doctors

Two Harford County interventional cardiologist honored to be recognized for their work by Baltimore Magazine.

Baltimore, MD – Dr. Ali Tabrizchi, and Dr. Amir Najafi, both clinical interventional cardiologists at the LifeBridge Health Cardiovascular Institute, are two of Baltimore magazine’s 2015 Top Doctors. They practice at Cardiovascular Associates of Maryland in Harford County in addition to their work at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore.

Physicians who receive this prestigious recognition are chosen by their peers. The magazine surveys about 12,000 area doctors in the greater Baltimore region, asks them who they would send their own family members to for treatment in more than 100 specialties and then compiles its list.

Dr. Tabrizchi has been a full-time clinical interventional cardiologist at Sinai Hospital since 2008 and serves as the director of Cardiovascular Associates of Maryland in Bel Air. Among the many procedures he has done, he has performed thousands of diagnostic angiograms, coronary interventions, peripheral angiograms and interventions, nuclear stress tests and echocardiograms. He is one of only seven physicians out of more than 700 to be chosen to serve on the prestigious LifeBridge Physician Network board for the past two years. He is also presently serving as the chairman of the Patient Satisfaction Committee.

Dr. Najafi, who also practices at Cardiovascular Associates of Maryland, is a board-certified interventional cardiologist. He has performed thousands of diagnostic angiograms, coronary interventions, nuclear stress tests and echocardiograms. He has also performed several hundred transradial catheterizations and can access coronary arteries through the wrist, which is associated with fewer complications and quicker recoveries than the traditional approach. With his skills in structural heart interventions, Dr. Najafi is instrumental in the trans-catheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) program at Sinai Hospital and as the interventional cardiologist on Sinai’s TAVR team, he has performed many valve replacements since the start of the program in February 2015.

Dr. Najafi’s extensive research in the fields of angiogenesis (formation of new blood vessels) and atherosclerosis has been published in respected scientific journals.

Dr. Tabrizchi is also published in prominent national and international medical journals and for the past five years, he has been recognized as one of America’s Most Compassionate Doctors by his patients, who provide online feedback about their experiences. Also, He has been voted as a “Top Doctor” by the Baltimore magazine for the past three years.

Both doctors are in an elite group of cardiologists in the United States to be quintuple board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, echocardiography and nuclear cardiology.
