• The guy next door: 35-year-old Aberdeen man busted for guns and drugs (wmar2news.com) — A major drug and weapons arrest at Perrywood Gardens Apartments in Aberdeen has a neighbor rethinking how safe the "drug free" complex really is. Harford County's task force seized cocaine laced with fentanyl, multiple firearms, and body armor from 35-year-old Kevin Scott Jr., who now faces numerous charges and is being held without bail, raising fresh concerns about crime along the Route 40 corridor.
• Sheriff Gahler condemns Maryland's ICE restrictions in testimony before Congress (wbal.com) — A 2022 killing in Aberdeen was central to Harford County Sheriff Jeff Gahler's testimony before Congress, where he argued Maryland should cooperate more with federal immigration authorities. Using that case and another Harford County murder, he blamed federal and state policies for allowing suspects without permanent legal status to remain in the country, while Rep. Jamie Raskin pushed back on Trump-era enforcement tactics.
