At 9 a.m. on Saturday, officers responded to the apartment for a domestic dispute and heard an "intense verbal altercation in progress," the Aberdeen Police Department said in a statement.

When a woman answered the door, she was holding a towel bloody from a stab wound to her arm, according to police. She was treated by the Aberdeen Fire Department and taken to a local emergency room, authorities reported.
