Beards Hill Road Repairs Continue At Route 22: Police
Drivers should take alternate routes due to repairs on Route 22 at Beards Hill Road.
ABERDEEN, MD — Repairs are underway in Aberdeen, where police said a construction-related accident caused damage Tuesday morning at the intersection of Beards Hill Road at Route 22.
After 6 p.m., officials said crews were replacing a pole at the intersection of Route 22 and Beards Hill Road. Traffic lights were affected.
Repairs as of 6:30 p.m. were expected to take several hours, police said, issuing the following guidance for drivers:

"Please avoid the intersection if at all possible. If you must travel through the area, lane pattern information is listed below."
- Westbound Route 22 - One lane is open to travel straight through the intersection. No turns are permitted.
- Eastbound Route 22 (toward APG) - Straight or right turn only. No left turns.
- Northbound on Beards Hill Road (near Chick-fil-A) - Right turn onto Route 22 only.
- Southbound on Beards Hill Road (near McDonald's) - Right turn only.
- To access the Beards Hill Shopping Center (Home Depot, ShopRite, etc.), please take Paradise Road to Beards Hill Road.
PREVIOUS REPORT: Traffic lights will be out of commission on Route 22 at Beards Hill Road Tuesday afternoon as officials make repairs from a crash.
At 3:30 p.m., officials said that the work could take three to four hours; during that time, police advised drivers to take alternate routes.

Traffic lights will be out at the intersection of Beards Hill Road at Route 22, according to officials.
A "construction-related accident" prompted the work, Aberdeen Police said.
Access to Beards Hill Road from Route 22 was restricted Tuesday morning near Shoprite Plaza because of a downed light pole connected to the incident, police said before 11:30 a.m. The right turn lane from westbound Route 22 was closed at Beards Hill Road, the Aberdeen Police Department reported.
Drivers should take Paradise Road as an alternate route, police said.
