Mother Charged After Child Found In Aberdeen Unattended: Police
The Aberdeen Police Department provides an update on a little boy who was found Tuesday unattended.
ABERDEEN, MD — A woman has been charged with neglect and other offenses after her son was found on the streets of Aberdeen unattended. The 4-year-old boy was found by a citizen, and he was not able to articulate who he was or where he lived. As a result, the Aberdeen Police Department issued a broadcast asking for help on social media.
Police said the boy was located near James Street at South Philadelphia Road at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. He was taken into protective custody, and child protective services was contacted.
After police asked for help identifying the boy, a citizen who recognized him contacted his mother. At 5:45 p.m., police said that the guardian of the boy had been found.

Kendra R. McMillan, 30, of the 600 block of Holly Wreath Circle, has been charged with neglect of a minor, child desertion, reckless endangerment, false statement to a police officer and obstruction and hindering.
Investigators said that she had gone to a nearby grocery store and during the time she was gone, the boy left the home.

She was arrested and taken to the Harford County Detention Center, while police said the boy was in the care of child protective services.
