MARLAYNA'S MEALS: La Tolteca

Marlayna's Meals is a Blog on the Restaurants in Aberdeen, Md. written by 12 yr. old Marlayna Haug and her Mom and Dad.

This week's adventure was a daddy-daughter date that took us to La Tolteca in the  on West Bel Air Avenue here in Aberdeen.

This is a Mexican restaurant that my family and I go to very often.

When we were there we got seated right away. We were brought chips and salsa and a really good, spicy, creamy dipping sauce to eat while we waited for our drinks and food.  When our server came she was very nice.

When we ordered our drinks, I got my usual Pineapple-flavored Jarrito—but I can only have one because I am only 12 years old and those are high in sugar.

My dad got a Coke.

We sat and ate our chips and we only had to wait about 10 minutes before our food came. I got the Mexican pizza off of the children’s menu. It was topped with beef, tomato sauce, and cheese on a fried flour tortilla.I added some of the salsa and creamy sauce, and put sour cream on it to make it taste even better!

My dad got the Grande Special. It was so big it came on two plates! It came with a taco, an enchilada, tamale, a chili relleno, a burrito, and an order of rice and beans.

Now that’s what I call a lot to eat!

My dad added some green chili hot sauce to give it more flavor. My dad, of course, couldn’t eat it all.

The meal came to about $22 which is very reasonable—especially when Daddy pays.

This experience was very good as usual and we will definitely be going there again!
