Summer Reading/Dino Academy: A Dinosaur Discovery Show

The 2025 4th of July Celebration in Bel Air will kick off with a flag-raising ceremony at 6:45 a.m. at Bel Air Town Hall on Hickory Avenue, 8:30 a.m. at Rockfield Park, 9:30 a.m. at Shamrock Park and 10:45 a.m. at Bel Air Elementary School.
A pancake breakfast will be held from 7 to 11:30 a.m. at Bel Air High School.Horseshoe pitching will take place at Rockfield Park from 9 a.m. to noon.
There will be family events, contests and more from 9 a.m. to noon at Shamrock Park. The Bel Air Community Band will perform a concert at noon.From 9 a.m. to noon, organizers will present&nbsp;"The American Revolution Experience" at the Hays House, which examines how people in the 13 colonies reacted to the Revolution. Children's activities&nbsp;also&nbsp;will be held outside on the lawn. Then at the Harford History Center (143 N. Main Street, from 4 to 5:30 pm), winning artwork interpreting phrases from the Declaration of Independence will be on display.A bicycle rodeo will take place at 11 a.m. at the Bel Air Elementary School and Lee Street.
The Bel Air July 4th parade will start at 6 p.m. starting at Idlewild and South Main, then proceed toward the intersection of East Gordon Street and North Main Street.
Fireworks will start at 9:30 p.m. They will launch from Rockfield Park with viewing areas all around Bel Air, organizers say.

The Downtown Aberdeen Association has partnered with Fivestar Dealerships to present an old-fashioned, family-friendly festival in downtown Aberdeen. There will b carnival games for the kids, music, games, activities, and entertainment from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Broadway.There will be fireworks starting at 10 p.m. at Morrison Riverfront Park. Fireworks begin around 9:15 p.m. (or once it’s dark) directly off this point at the Susquehanna River. The best views are from Hutchins and Concord Point parks, organizers said.

The annual Purcellville Wine and Food Festival returns on Saturday, July 18, in Dillon’s Woods at the historic Fireman’s Field Complex (250 S. Nursery Avenue, Purcellville). The festival will take place from 2 to 8 p.m., inviting guests to gather with family and friends for an afternoon and evening of local wine, beer, food, live music, art, and more.
This year’s event will showcase 40 vendors, including wineries, breweries, food and snack vendors, and local exhibitors. Enjoy live music performances by the Rick Reaves Band, The Darby Brothers, and the Franklin Park Big Band. The “Arts in the Garden” section, hosted by the Purcellville Arts Council, will highlight local artists who will create works of art live on-site. Additional activities include face painting and a photo stand-in booth. 
Early bird ticket pricing is available through 5 p.m. on July 17: 
• Early bird admission (ages 17 and over): $5 (+ tax) 
• Early bird drink tickets (6 oz wine or 12 oz beer): $8.50 (+ tax) 
• Early bird drink ticket package: 4 tickets for $32 (+ tax) 
• Early bird bottle of wine purchase: $35 (+ tax), available from participating wineries (bottles must be consumed on-site)
A souvenir glass will be provided with the purchase of the first drink ticket. Save time and money by purchasing your tickets in advance. 
The popular VIP experience returns for $275 (+ tax) and includes admission for six, a reserved table for six, three bottles of local wine, six souvenir glasses, six drink tickets, early entry to the festival, special commemorative gifts, and a selection of sweets and savories for the table.
