Cannon To Fire During Aberdeen IronBirds Game
A loud boom at Aberdeen Friday night is no cause for alarm, city officials advise: BREAKING.
ABERDEEN, MD — The city of Aberdeen has advised that there will be a loud noise Friday evening coming from Ripken Stadium, and it is no cause for alarm.
The Aberdeen IronBirds and Brooklyn Cyclones are facing off at 7:05 p.m. but before they do, a cannon will blast. During the singing of the National Anthem, Ripken Baseball will fire the cannon, city officials said.
Personnel from Aberdeen Proving Ground will be working at the event to ensure all goes smoothly, according to authorities.

The game between the IronBirds and Brooklyn Cyclones starts at 7:05 p.m. on Friday, June 30. Gates open at 6 p.m.
It is a designated Military Appreciation Night, when there will be fireworks at the end of the game. According to the Ironbirds, the celebration will include recognition of Aberdeen Proving Ground's centennial.
