Coastal Flood Advisory in Effect for Harford County

The National Weather Service said tides will be unusually high.

A coastal flood advisory is in effect for Harford and Baltimore counties until 2 a.m. Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Under a coastal flood advisory, winds and tides combine to create flooding along low-lying areas by the shore.

During high tide on Tuesday, the tides will rise approximately one foot higher than normal, the weather service reported. High tide in Havre de Grace is 11:23 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, according to the report.

Inland areas may also experience effects from the afternoon thunderstorms in the area.Β Storms may lead to flash flooding and damaging winds, according to the weather service, which reported an isolated tornado is possible.
