Decomposing Body In Aberdeen Was Homicide Victim: Sheriff

Authorities say a murder investigation is underway after the death of a man whose body was found in Aberdeen was ruled a homicide.

ABERDEEN, MD — The discovery of a decomposing body in Aberdeen has sparked a homicide investigation. While the body was found in May, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner only ruled the death a homicide on Thursday, Aug. 2, the Harford County Sheriff's Office reported Friday, Aug. 3.

Now authorities are asking for help with the investigation.

The body of Charlie Lee Roberts III was found off Spesutia Road at Cranberry Road, authorities said.

Two pedestrians walking in the area around 2:30 p.m. on May 7 found the body, which was in an advanced stage of decomposition, officials reported.

Investigators said that Roberts was homeless and had last been in touch with his family on March 4.
