Disabled Aberdeen Man's Wheelchair Missing: Police

It's unknown whether the man's wheelchair was taken intentionally or if it was thought to be abandoned and removed, according to reports.

ABERDEEN, MD — A physically disabled Aberdeen man's wheelchair went missing Friday afternoon, according to reports. The man reported his wheelchair missing around 12:30 p.m. Friday.

He reported he had left his wheelchair on the sidewalk in front of his Defense Drive home around 11:20 a.m., the Aberdeen Police Department release said, according to the Aegis. Thirty minutes later, it was gone.

Both the man and police don't know whether the wheelchair was intentionally stolen or if a neighbor thought it was abandoned.

The Aegis reported police as saying the wheelchair has a reclining back rest, the leg rests have been removed, that it has a blue felt seat and backrest and a white seat cushion when it was taken.

Anybody with information on the wheelchair is asked to call Officer Upham at 410-272-2121.
