Harford County Flags to Be Flown at Half-Staff on Saturday

The measure is in recognition of losing one of 'Harford's finest,' County Executive Barry Glassman said.

Harford County Executive Barry Glassman ordered the Harford County flag to be flown at half-staff on Saturday, Dec. 27, in honor of Derrick Lloyd, past chief of the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company.

Lloyd died on Monday following a lengthy illness, according to a statement from Glassman.

β€œChief Lloyd served the citizens of Harford County and our state, with honor, distinction and exemplary service for more than a quarter of a century,” Glassman said.

β€œHe was one of ’Harford’s finest’ and will be truly missed,” Glassman continued. β€œOn behalf of my wife and family, I extend our sincere condolences to Derrick’s wife Michelle and the members of the Joppa-Magnolia [Volunteer Fire Company] for their loss.”
