Legendary Funk Group to Perform at Charles Town Event Center on April 29
On Friday, April 29, Morris Day and the Time are bringing back the funk. In addition to being the group’s lead singer, Day gained national attention playing the antagonist to Prince in films Purple Rain and Graffiti Bridge. As a band, Morris Day and the Time produced 1990’s No. 1 R&B hit, “Jerk Out,” a dance-infused funk jam from their fourth album Pandemonium. After coming out of retirement in the early 2000s, Morris Day continues to play with The Time, who have since recruited several new members. In 2008, Day reunited with his original band members to perform with superstar Rihanna at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards.
