Lady Eagles Fans Show Up in Force
Heavy rain doesn't stop the Lady Eagles fans from coming together to cheer on their team in the state semi-final at UMBC.
Aberdeen High School's Lady Eagles fans braved Thursday's foul weather to show love for their victorious home team.
“We're not from a famous area, so for us to be rising up like we are is pretty exciting,” said AHS freshman Seth Budrow, 14.
Budrow joined more than 50 people, including students, faculty and graduates who arrived promptly at 5 p.m. to catch the Lady Eagles' fan bus for a one-hour ride from AHS to the University of Maryland Baltimore County.

The Lady Eagles fans, soaked by time they boarded the bus, stayed pretty quiet during the ride, but came alive during the contest as thier team defeated Largo High School's Lady Lions 73-62.
Emily Budrow, 20, a graduate of AHS, who is the sister of Seth Budrow and daughter of AHS Athletic Director Tim Lindecamp didn't mind returning to her alma mater to support the Lady Eagles.

Recalling her days as an AHS student, Emily Budrow said: “The guys team was always good; the girl's team, not so much. I never got to experience this when I was in school.”
Kelly Zimmerman, 31, AHS physical education teacher and fan bus chaperone , said Lady Eagles head coach Stacy Liles and her players have made the team successful this year.
“They have good chemistry and good players,” Zimmerman said. “They're very disciplined, and they still have fun.”
Going into the fourth quarter, the Lady Lions had closed the gap on the 11-point lead the Lady Eagles had held at the beginning of the third quarter.
Free throws and 3-pointers played a big role in the Lady Eagles' victory.
“I knew they would win,” said AHS senior Freddie Hill, 17, during the ride home.“Even as the game got more suspenseful, I knew they would win.”
Most of the exhausted Lady Eagles fans slept during the return bus trip—the sleep of the contented.
