Jones Eclipses 1,000 Career Points in Eagles Season Opener
Junior center Bri Jones scored 31 points in the Eagles 70-53 victory over the Meade Mustangs.
In the opening game of a season where the have the potential to go back to the state finals, junior center Bri Jones accomplished a milestone of her own.
Jones surpassed 1,000 career points when she scored 31 to help give the No. 2 Eagles a victory over the No. 14 Meade Mustangs.
"I'll take the win," Jones told The Sun. "If I don't get 1,000 tonight, at least we have the win ... but to get 1,000 is really awesome."

The 6-foot-2 center completed the game with a usual double: 31 points, 13 rebounds. She also had three steals.
"We played good as a team. We took our time and played our game. Need to work on a few things, but good first game," Eagles coach Stacy Liles told Patch.
