Late Goal Nets Aberdeen a 3-2 Playoff Victory Against Patterson
The Eagles team rallies from a two-goal deficit at halftime to advance to the Class 3A North semifinals.
Co-captain Kevin Shumaker made the game-wining goal late in the second half to propel to a 3-2 win over Patterson in the Class 3A North quarterfinals.
The Eagles won after being down by two goals at halftime.
"I just saw it and finished the opportunity," Shumaker said. "I give it up to Hunter Haag for the assist and the rest of team 'cause we played with heart. We just stuck it out until the end."

Justin Howard and Tyler Green had a goal and an assist each for the Eagles. Goalies Anthony Hale and Thomas Moore each had two saves in the win.
"This is the perfect opportunity for us to prove the type of men we are and they responded appropriately," Aberdeen coach Bill Wardle said.

Aberdeen advances to the region semifinals as the Eagles travel to face Hereford. Hereford advanced with a 2-1 win over Eastern Tech on Tuesday.
