Local Business Buys HCC Arena Naming Rights

Harford Community College's new arena will have seating for 3,200.

's new arena facility will carry a local name.

The 3,200-seat  Arena at Harford Community College will replace the current gymnasium at the Susquehanna Center.

The deal is for $50,000 a year over 15 years, with the funds going toward the operation of the new building and scholarships for HCC students.

"Harford Community College is fortunate to partner with APGFCU," Harford Community College President Dr. Dennis Golladay said in a news release. "The APG Federal Credit Union Arena at Harford Community College will be the focal point of the new Susquehanna Center. While its renovation and addition are a tremendous benefit for our students, the greater community will find the newly renovated arena to be the centerpiece gathering area for Northeastern Maryland."

The arena will be home to the Harford Owls and the Harford athletic department.

Don W. Lewis, president/CEO, APG Federal Credit Union, said in the news release: "Harford County is a community where families thrive and Harford Community College is one of the reasons why. The new Susquehanna Center will provide an unmatched gathering place right in the heart of our community and will offer sporting, cultural and civic activities for all ages. A number of advertising opportunities remain for the new arena, including individual seat naming rights.
