Orioles Right-Handed Pitcher Transferred to Aberdeen

Jason Hammel, who is on the rehab list, was transferred Tuesday.

Orioles right-handed pitcher Jason Hammel has been assigned to Aberdeen as he recovers from right forearm tightness, according a report from the Baltimore Orioles.

On Tuesday, Hammel was moved from Bowie to Aberdeen, the Class A short season roster indicates.

The plan was for him to throw approximately 60 to 65 pitches across six innings, the Orioles reported.

Hammel has been on the disabled list since July 29, according to The Baltimore Sun, which reported that he had full extension on his pitches in Bowie last week, where he threw nearly three scoreless innings.

He may be able to return to the Orioles Saturday or Sunday, the team reported. The Orioles face off against the White Sox in a series that runs from Thursday, Sept. 5, to Sunday, Sept. 8.
