Plaza Ford Receives Award of Excellence

Each year, The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region (The Arc NCR) honors a local Harford or Cecil County business for providing outstanding and heartfelt support to the organization and its mission. The Award of Excellence recipient is a business or person who has a long-term commitment to The Arc NCR. Past winners include former Harford County Executive, David Craig, and Harford Mutual Insurance Company. This year’s Award of Excellence winner is Plaza Ford in Bel Air, Maryland.

Plaza Ford has partnered with The Arc NCR for more than 20 years. President Tom Walls himself has helped in various volunteer positions along with his wife, Sharon Walls, and daughter, Katie Hargrove. Mr. Walls has served as a Foundation Board member, advocate in the community and generous donor. He goes above and beyond to make a difference, and exemplifies The Arc NCR’s mission of empowering people with differing abilities to live, work and play in the community. Plaza Ford was also the Event Chair at the 10th Annual After d’Arc Gala in 2014, and co-chaired the 2015 event.

“We would not be able to do such meaningful work without Plaza Ford,” says Executive Director of The Arc NCR, Shawn Kros. “They help us in so many ways…from financially to making connections for us in the community.”
