Police: Lockdown at Elementary School Lifted

An elementary school in Aberdeen was placed on lockdown Thursday afternoon as officials investigated a reported shooting, according to the Aberdeen Police Department.

Hall’s Cross Roads Elementary School will reopen at 3:50 p.m., police reported.

The school went into lockdown at approximately 1:39 p.m., immediately after officers were dispatched to a reported shooting in the area of New County Road and East Bel Air Avenue, according to police.

Police said there was not any additional information available, in an update before 4 p.m.

Students at Hall’s Cross Roads Elementary School normally dismiss by 3:30 p.m.
