Teen Injured When Car Plows Into House: Aberdeen Police

Police said the 16-year-old victim was asleep on the couch when a vehicle ended up on top of him.

ABERDEEN, MD - A teen was flown to shock trauma Tuesday night after a car ran through a house in Aberdeen and pinned him on the couch, police said. First responders spent an hour working to free the 16-year-old boy so he could be taken to the hospital.

Authorities said they were dispatched at 11:19 p.m. to the 900 block of Edmund Street, where a car had gone into a house. The driver - a 32-year-old Edgewood woman - was neither impaired nor distracted, officials said.

Based on the initial investigation, polices said the woman had turned the wheel when a black truck behind her drove around and cut in front of her at a stop sign. She accelerated while over-correcting her steering, and her car vaulted over a curb, into the house, through a wall and onto the teen, who was sleeping on the couch, according to officials.
