Whiz Kid Key to Awesomeness: Relationship with God and his church and love of learning
Terrance Wiley has been interested in the medical field for some time and is now showing a strong interest in international business, according to his mother Linda, an emergency department nurse for Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace.
Currently, Terrance has a grade point average of 3.2. His favorite subject is science. He plays football and runs indoor track for Aberdeen High School.
Terrance is a freshman who has maintained his honor roll status.
"He has expressed an interest to learn seven languages in order to communicate effectively as a CEO of an international business," said Linda Wiley. "He has completed his first semesters in Spanish and French and he is now looking forward to learning Chinese."
His hobbies include many that are typical of any teenage boy: basketball, football, swimming and working with electronics.
"Learning to read and write Japanese is a hobby as well," Linda Wiley said.
Terrance is considering Towson University or the University of Maryland to pursue a career in business.
Linda Wiley can recall how Terrance would create business opportunities in schoool like selling Jolly Ranchers or soda. He also partnered with a friend with like-minded goals to start grass-cutting, baby-sitting, dog-walking, businesses around his neighborhood.
Terrance's mother describes him as a young man who "likes diversity, moving and shaking."
"He likes to generate money and wants to direct traffic," she added. "Furthermore, he knows how to blend in well and make friends."
Terrance also was recently baptized at the Church of Redeemed in Baltimore on Feb. 13.
"The key to Terrance's awesomeness is the fact that he is a Christian," Linda Wiley said.
Once he completes new member bible classes at the church he will volunteer on the church's audio visual team.
"These things make him a dynamic kid," Linda Wiley said.
She went on to say that she recently received a phone text from her son explaining how he did on his High School Assesment. Extra credit was a great benefit on the test.
"Out of a possible 394 in government, he made a 435," she says. "Out of a possible 412 in math, he made a 425."
Great Work Terrance!
Keep moving and shaking your way to success!
