14-Year-Old Boy Dead In Salisbury Shooting Identified: Report
Xavier Cordei Maddox from Salisbury died after being shot in the head, authorities said, according to FOX3 Now.
SALISBURY, MD — The 14-year-old boy who was killed in a shooting at a block party in Salisbury just after midnight Wednesday has been identified, according to a FOX3 Now report. At least six other people were injured in the shooting.
Xavier Cordei Maddox from Salisbury died after being shot in the head, authorities said, according to the outlet.
The six people injured in the shooting are being treated at the hospital with injuries that are not life threatening, the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office said in a news release earlier in the day Wednesday.

Authorities said the shooting occurred on Chippewa Boulevard near Kiowa Avenue in Salisbury. The boy died after being taken to the hospital.
Gov. Wes Moore noted the Salisbury mass shooting comes just a few days after two people were killed and 28 more injured in a shooting at a South Baltimore block party Sunday.

The FBI is offering a reward of $28,000 for information leading to an arrest in the Baltimore shooting, which took place just after 12:30 a.m. Sunday in the Brooklyn Homes area.

“In just a few days, two mass shootings in our beloved state have taken lives and ripped at the fabric of our communities. I grieve with the victims in Salisbury and their loved ones, as well as the community that has lost one of their own," Moore said in a statement Wednesday morning.
"To those who are hurting: My heart is with you," Moore added in his statement about the Salisbury shooting. "I would like to thank our first responders who rushed to the scene, and I am confident that law enforcement will bring those who committed this vile act to justice. I spoke earlier this morning with both the county executive of Wicomico and the mayor of Salisbury. I will continue to stay in close contact with local officials and authorities and will assist in every way possible."
Moore said the "scourge of gun violence" is not limited to cities.
"I speak for everyone when I say, again, that we have had enough," Moore said. "My administration will not stop in our mission to prevent tragic acts of violence like the one we have witnessed.”
