A problem with a home's electrical panel sparked a house fire in Salisbury that caused $50,000 damage, the state fire marshal said.
SALISBURY, MD — A problem with a home's electrical panel sparked a house fire in Salisbury that caused $50,000 damage, the state fire marshal said.
The fire was reported in a one-story home at 29269 Naylor Mill Road at 10:30 p.m. Sunday, authorities said. No injuries were reported.
The Salisbury Fire Department brought the fire under control in about 30 minutes. Damage was estimated at $40,000 to the structure and $10,000 to the contents in the home.

The fire was spotted by the home's resident. There were no smoke alarms or sprinklers in the home, officials said.
The state fire marshal said the fire was accidental and began as a result of a failure of an electrical branch circuit near the distribution panel.
