Just fresh off of the US Tennis Association Mid-Atlantic Tennis Rating Program, Head Tennis Professional, Terry Underkoffler, says, "this is the first time we have hosted a USTA tournament ever." Terry continues, "COVID put a monkey wrench into us, but this is a big deal." The tournament day, a buzz is in the air, as players warm up before the 10 am matches. Men and women compete in singles games to achieve points, win the tournament and qualify for the Mid-Atlantic sectional championship. Tennis fans came out to watch the game like Vance, "I might get pointers for my game." A part-time Ocean Pines resident, Vance, commended how the tournament may lead to other club opportunities. "Hopefully, it goes well." Tennis isn't the only racquet sport played at the state of the art facility; pickleball, platform tennis, and a fantastic lounge is part of the complex.
