Man Who Ran Over Woman With Forklift At MD Home Depot Sentenced: Report

A 73-year-old woman died when Bryce Caleb Timothy Brown used a forklift to run over her in the parking lot of a Maryland Home Depot.

WALDORF, MD — The man who killed a woman by running over her with a forklift at a Home Depot in Waldorf was sentenced to 40 years in prison on Monday, according to a report.

Bryce Caleb Timothy Brown was found guilty in December of the murder of 73-year-old Gloristine Pinkney. He then stole her credit card, used it to buy gas before returning home, previous reports stated.

Before sentencing Brown, Judge William Greer called the case a "terrible situation," according to a WTOP report.

"It affects your family and Ms. Pinkney’s family," Greer told Brown. "Your family will get to see you and talk to you, but Ms. Pinkney’s family will not. It’s sad all the way around."

According to authorities, Brown worked at a nearby Lowe's store in July 2023 when he broke into the store's fenced-in lot, stole the forklift, and drove it to Home Depot. Charles County Sheriff's deputies later called to Lowe's for a reported burglary were told that employees heard loud banging coming from the back security gate, WMAR reported.

Deputies were told a woman had been screaming outside the nearby Home Depot, where they discovered the body of Pinkney pinned beneath a forklift.

Reports said Pinkney was asleep in her parked car when Brown rammed it with a forklift. She got out of the car and tried to run away, but Brown followed her and ran her over with the forklift.

Following the incident, Brown was convicted of second-degree murder, theft, fourth-degree burglary and malicious destruction of property.
