VA Couple Arrested In Road Rage Incident On Eastern Shore: Police

A man and woman from Virginia were arrested following a road rage incident with a gun in their car on the Eastern Shore, state police said.

PRINCESS ANNE, MD — A man and woman from Virginia with a gun and ammunition in their car were arrested following a reported road rage incident Sunday in Somerset County, police said.

The accused are identified as Kiana Chandler, 31 and Rendell Chandler, 31, both of Painter, Virginia. A Maryland State Police news release said Kiana was charged with first- and second- degree assault, reckless endangerment and other related charges, while Rendell was charged with handgun in vehicle.

Both were taken to the Princess Anne Barrack for processing and later seen by a district court commissioner. Kiana, the driver of a blue Volkswagen, was released on $30,000 unsecured bond. Rendell, a passenger, was released on his own recognizance, authorities said.

Shortly before 2:20 p.m. on Saturday, troopers from the Maryland State Police Princess Anne Barrack responded to the area of southbound Route 13, south of Revells Neck Road in Somerset County for the report of a road rage case involving a firearm. The victim involved, who is not being identified at this time, called 911 to report the incident.

State police said the victim was driving on southbound Route 13, and came up behind a blue Volkswagen with Virginia plates, whose driver then brake checked him. As the victim tried to pass the Volkswagen by moving into lane two, the driver of the Volkswagen pointed a gun at him.

No injuries were reported, police said.

State troopers and police officers from the Pocomoke City Police Department stopped the Volkswagen near the Virginia state line. A 9mm handgun with a loaded magazine was found in the vehicle. Both the driver and the passenger were taken into police custody.
