ANNAPOLIS, MD — The Military Bowl and parade will bring about heavy traffic on Monday. Motorists may encounter delays and should consider alternate routes, warn Annapolis officials.

The Military Bowl Parade kicked off the festivities at 9 a.m. The parade started at City Dock and and will end at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

Annapolis Police say motorists may encounter heavy traffic and delays in Annapolis, but especially near the stadium and the parade route.

The Virginia Tech Hokies and the Cincinnati Bearcats will face off at 12 p.m. at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

The parade route travels up Main Street, around Church Circle to College Avenue, then turns left on (inbound) Bladen Street and continues along Rowe Boulevard before taking a left on Taylor Avenue and concluding at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

The parade is expected to take about 1 ½ hours for all 60-plus units to move from City Dock to the stadium. Roads along the route will be closed beginning at 8:45 AM and will open on a rolling basis as the parade progresses to the stadium.

Please be aware that no parking will be allowed at City Dock or along Main Street.
