6 Annapolis Shootings, 1 Death, 1 Hurt Over 5 Days; Police Seek Tips
A $2K reward is offered for tips that lead to an arrest in the shooting of a man in Annapolis. Six shootings have been reported in 5 days.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — A $2,000 reward is being offered for tips that lead to an arrest in Friday's shooting of a man in Annapolis. It was the sixth case of shots fired reported in the city between June 2 and June 6, police said.
Police said 27-year-old Tayshon Deshields was shot about 11 p.m. June 2 near Frederick Douglass and Medgar Evers Street. He was driven by friends to an area hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to the chest.
Deshields was flown to a Shock Trauma unit in Baltimore in critical but stable condition.

Officers also found that two homes in the area had been struck by gunfire. No one else was injured in the shooting, a police news release said.

June 3 at 12:03 a.m.: Shots were fired in the 600 block of Severn Island Court and property was destroyed. Police said a house was damaged when it was struck by bullets.
June 3 at 1:04 a.m.: Shots were fired in the 700 block of Newtowne Drive and a vehicle was struck by gunfire.
June 3 at 10:08 p.m.: Officers were called to the 1100 block of Madison Street for reports of gunshots fired. They found Amari Tydings, 26, of Annapolis suffering from a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene by medics.
June 4 at 7:21 a.m.: A gunshot was fired in the area of Frederick Douglas and President Streets. Officers reviewed closed circuit television footage, which showed a suspect walk to the corner, fire a shot in the air, and walk toward Tyler Avenue.
June 5 at 12:24 a.m.: Gunshots were reported near Frederick Douglass and President Streets. Officers did not locate any evidence of shots fired.
In all these cases, authorities said the investigation is fluid and ongoing. Detectives ask anyone with information about the shooting to call 410-260-3439.
