300th Coronavirus Patient Discharged From AAMC

After a five-day stay, 33-year-old José Portillo of Annapolis was discharged from Anne Arundel Medical Center.

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — This week, front line workers and other caregivers at Anne Arundel Medical Center formed what they call a "clap line" to recognize and celebrate the discharge of the 300th coronavirus patient. After a five-day stay, 33-year-old José Portillo of Annapolis was discharged.

“We are celebrating the courage and strength of José and all 300 patients to date who have been discharged,” Sherry Perkins, president of AAMC, told WMAR. “In witnessing this celebratory moment for our patient, I am deeply grateful to all of our care teams who are working tirelessly for these life-saving victories.”

The hospital noted on its Facebook page that it's still seeking donations of CDC-compliant handmade face masks that can help prevent the spread of coronavirus from person to person. Donated masks are used for patients and community outreach. Here are step-by-step instructions provided by the hospital as to how you can make a mask: http://ow.ly/NNc050zGoaO
