536 Marijuana Plants Worth $160K Seized in Basement Raid: Police

Anne Arundel County Police arrested a man for drug trafficking after finding hundreds of marijuana plants worth $160K in his basement.

Pasadena, MD — More than 500 marijuana plants worth about $160,000 were reportedly found during a drug raid in a Pasadena man’s basement, police say.

Richard Paul Youngbar, 56, of 8373 Youngbar Drive in Pasadena, was arrested Friday on multiple drug-trafficking charges, including intent to sell marijuana and Oxycodone, according to Anne Arundel County Police.

Youngbar was released from jail Monday on $45,000 bond, court records say.

Police units executed a search warrant Friday at Youngbar’s home, where they found what authorities described as an indoor marijuana grow operation in his basement.

Officers seized 536 marijuana plants ranging from seedlings to mature plants from the house, plus 11.44 pounds of marijuana ready for packaging. The estimated street value of the marijuana recovered was $159,880.

In the master bedroom, police reportedly found 30.64 grams of cocaine, which was packaged for distribution, with an estimated street value of $3,064. Police also seized 185 Oxycodone pills and other prescription pills with an estimated street value of $5,600 and cash was recovered.

Youngbar is charged with: Possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, manufacturing marijuana, possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of oxycodone hydrochloride, and possession of oxycodone hydrochloride with intent to distribute.
