56 Critical Health Code Violations In May At Anne Arundel County Eateries

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD -- The Anne Arundel County Department of Health released its food safety inspection results for the month of May, which found 56 restaurants to be in violation. Hundreds of restaurants and food service establishments were inspected, most of which passed with no critical violations.

The types of inspections are: Initial Comprehensive Inspection (ICI), which is a full inspection; Monitoring Inspection (first or second), which is a specialized inspection; and Reinspection (first or second).

Many of the restaurants and service locations are scheduled for a reinspection.

Patch reported that inspectors evaluate nine critical food safety items, which are those most likely to contribute to foodborne illness, the department says. If a critical food safety violation is found, the establishment must correct it immediately or risk being closed.
