7-Year-Old Girl Hit By Car on Bay Ridge Drive

The girl suffered minor injuries Wednesday crossing an Annapolis street.

Annapolis, MD — A 7-year-old girl suffered minor injuries Wednesday afternoon after she ran into a car while crossing Bay Ridge Drive, Annapolis police said.

Police were called to the accident at the intersection of Bay Ridge and Cypress roads at 3:30 p.m.

The girl was with a babysitter crossing Bay Ridge Road on foot when she was hit by a vehicle, said Annapolis Police spokeswoman Cpl. Amy Miguez.

Bay Ridge Road and Forest Drive at Hillsmere Drive were closed for about 15 minutes because of the accident.

There is no crosswalk or light at the intersection, Miguez said.

Police said no traffic citations were issued; the driver was not at fault.

The girl was checked at Anne Arundel Medical Center as a precaution.
