8 Maryland Billionaires Make Forbes 400 Richest List for 2016
Maryland's richest billionaire is ranked at No. 90 on the 2016 list of the 400 wealthiest people in the United States.

Forbes magazine has released its annual list of the 400 richest Americans, and eight billionaires from Maryland made the list — an increase of one from a year ago. New to the exclusive list is Jim Davis of Cockeysville, who made his fortune as co-founder and chairman of staffing company Allegis Group, which he started with his cousin, fellow billionaire Stephen Bisciotti.
Chevy Chase developer and Washington Nationals owner Ted Lerner retains the highest placing in the state, while investor Mitchell Rales of Potomac climbed to the No. 2 spot. Under Armour founder Kevin Plank slid from second place to fifth among Maryland's uber-wealthy. And Dan Snyder, the owner of the Washington Redskins, saw his ranking drop to last among his fellow Marylanders.
The billionaires in the magazine's 35th annual rankings have a combined total net worth of $2.4 trillion, up from $2.34 trillion last year. The minimum net worth needed to make this year’s list remains at $1.7 billion, unchanged from 2015.
