All Students Grades 1 Through 12, Anne Arundel County, To Start 2020-2021 School Year On Same Day

Students in first through 12th grades will all begin the school year on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, and not in the staggered fashion that has been employed in prior years.

The onset of virtual learning negates the need to provide students in grades 6 and 9 – the first year of middle school and high school, respectively – with a day to get acclimated to a new, larger building before all students return to those buildings. Anne Arundel County Public Schools will consider instituting such a day when the school system returns to full in-person instruction.
Students in half-day prekindergarten, full-day prekindergarten, early childhood intervention and kindergarten will have a staggered start so that teachers can conduct conferences with parents and guardians. Specific conference dates for those families will be provided by schools.

TODOS LOS ESTUDIANTES EN LOS GRADOS 1 A 12 PARA COMENZAR EL AÑO ESCOLAR 2020-2021 EL MISMO DÍA
Los estudiantes de primero a 12o grado comenzarán el año escolar el martes 8 de septiembre de 2020, y no de la manera escalonada que se ha empleado en años anteriores.
El inicio del aprendizaje virtual niega la necesidad de proporcionar a los estudiantes en los grados 6 y 9 – el primer año de la escuela media y la escuela secundaria, respectivamente – con un día para acostumbrarse a un nuevo edificio más grande antes de que todos los estudiantes regresen a esos edificios. Las Escuelas Públicas del Condado de Anne Arundel considerarán instituir un día cuando el sistema escolar regrese a la instrucción en persona.
Los estudiantes en prekínder de medio día, prekínder de día completo, intervención de infancia temprana y kínder tendrán un comienzo escalonado para que los maestros puedan llevar a cabo conferencias con los padres y tutores.
