Amazon Offers 1-Hour Whole Foods Delivery In Annapolis Area

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Shoppers at Whole Foods in the Annapolis area who are also members of Amazon Prime have a new benefit. Thanks to the online retail giant's earlier acquisition of the upscale grocer, customers of Whole Foods who are Amazon Prime members can get food delivered in as little as one hour, the company says.

Starting Oct. 10, Prime members in Annapolis, Edgwater, Bowie, Glen Burnie and other towns can shop through Prime Now for thousands of grocery items including fresh produce, high quality meat and seafood, everyday staples and other locally sourced items from Whole Foods Market. Now available in 53 cities, the service launched earlier this year in Baltimore and elsewhere with plans for continued expansion across the country throughout 2018.

“With our goal to cover as many Prime customers as possible with this new service in Annapolis, our coverage is expansive,” said Tanvi Patel, head of business development for Prime Now, in a news release. “Today we’re excited to reach customers from Ferndale, Glen Burnie in the north, to Harwood, West River in the south, and from Bowie, Kettering in the west to downtown Annapolis in the east.”

Delivery from Whole Foods Market is available daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Delivery fees vary based on order size. To learn more about grocery pickup or delivery from Prime Now, visit www.primenow.com. Customers can also find out if these services are available in their area by saying, “Alexa, shop Whole Foods.”

Prime members shopping Whole Foods Market can receive 5 percent back on Whole Foods Market purchases when using the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Card. Shopping Whole Foods Market via Prime Now is possibl with Alexa – members can add items to their Whole Foods Market cart by saying “Alexa, add eggs to my Whole Foods cart,” when they are ready to checkout, they can just say “Alexa, check out my Whole Foods cart,” then they can checkout using the Prime Now app and choose delivery.

Amazon Prime memberships cost $119. A student membership is $59.
