ANNAPOLIS, MD — A man was hospitalized Tuesday after an explosion broke out inside a detached garage in Annapolis.
First responders were called to the scene of a detached garage at 3005 Friends Road at 2 p.m. for reports of a structure fire. However, authorities later determined there was no fire.
Lt. Erick Jones, of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department, told Patch that first responders did find a man suffering from critical injuries caused by an explosion.
The man, who was not identified, was flown to a hospital via helicopter.
The cause of the explosion has not yet been determined, but officials say there is no further threat to the community.
A joint investigation is being carried out by the Anne Arundel County fire and police departments.
