Loose Dog Fatally Shot After Biting 2 People, Pets: Annapolis Police

Two people and two pets were bitten by a loose dog over the weekend in Annapolis, police said.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — A loose dog was fatally shot over the weekend after biting two people and two dogs in Annapolis.

A release by the Annapolis Police Department on Tuesday said the incident occurred Saturday on the unit block of Tiburon Court. The loose dog was shot by police after it charged at a responding officer.

Authorities did not provide any additional information regarding the dog, but stated the animal's owners had been located and notified of the incident.

Of the two injured persons, just one was hospitalized for treatment. Police said the second individual refused medical care.

Authorities did not detail the condition of the two other dogs that were bitten.

The Anne Arundel County Animal Services took possession of the deceased dog's body.
