ANNAPOLIS, MD — The show must go on, and it did over the weekend after extreme sports star Travis Pastrana broke his leg hours before a highly anticipated Nitro Circus event.
The Annapolis native, known for his motorcross and stunt performances, was scheduled to perform at the Navy Marine Corps Memorial Stadium on Sunday along with his Nitro Circus stunt team.
However, things took a turn when he broke his fibula and fractured his tibia while practicing a double flip he intended to do at the end of the weekend show.
"I just got a little overzealous and wanted to put on the best show ever for you guys," Pastrana said in a video while holding onto his leg.

In the lead-up to the weekend event, Pastrana had billed his appearance as possibly being the last time he would be riding a motorcycle in the show.
"I didn't quite make it to the event," he said.
The outpouring of support was nearly instant, with many expressing their shock at Pastrana's ability to "casually" make the announcement. Watch the video.
The Nitro Circus team's next show is scheduled for Tuesday, at the Harbor Park Stadium in Norfolk, Virginia.
