With more than $13,000 raised toward a higher $16,000 goal, Kimbrough plans to bid on Carl today and, if successful, move him to the Wild Kid Acres petting zoo in Edgewater for long-term care.
• Local Business Spotlight: Annapolis Yacht Club Foundation (eyeonannapolis.net) — Annapolis readers can learn how the Annapolis Yacht Club Foundation quietly funds swimming lessons, sailing scholarships, adaptive boating, and competitive training for neighbors across the city. Leaders explain how the 26-year-old nonprofit helps residents move from basic water safety to Olympic-level dreams, including support for local sailor Leo Boucher's 2028 Olympic bid.
• Even Keel Wellness Spa Expands Free Cancer Care Day to Four Maryland Locations (eyeonannapolis.net) — Residents affected by cancer can receive free wellness treatments at Even Keel's Annapolis spa during the Calm for a Cure Day of Care on Sunday, October 18, with phone registration required. The event, now expanded to four Maryland locations, offers complimentary massages, facials, and other services and is supported year-round by the Harmony Foundation for patients and caregivers.
