Annapolis Resident Facing Assault Charges After Pulling Knife On Woman: Police

Court records show the 26-year-old Annapolis resident is facing three charges, including first-degree assault.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — A 26-year-old Annapolis woman is facing several charges Thursday after pulling a knife on a woman, police said.

Annapolis Police said the incident occurred at a residence on the 900 block of Royal Street, in the Bywater Mutual Homes community.

Authorities identified the suspect as Shaniya Young in a release, adding that both she and an unidentified woman suffered minor injuries during the altercation.

Patch has reached out to Annapolis Police for details on the case.

Court records show Young was charged with first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment.

Young was released on her own recognizance. A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for Oct. 28.
