Anne Arundel County Fire Academy Graduates 33 New Firefighters and EMS Personnel (eyeonannapolis.net) β Anne Arundel County just graduated 33 new firefighters and EMS personnel, with one recruit headed directly to the Annapolis Fire Department and most others joining county stations that back up city responses. After eight months of intensive training, these new professionals will soon be answering local emergency calls, strengthening fire protection and medical response for Annapolis residents and surrounding communities.

Global Landmarks Light Up Green for World PANS & PANDAS Awareness Day (town.news) β Government House in Annapolis will glow green on Friday, October 9, as part of a global campaign to raise awareness for the little-known pediatric conditions PANS and PANDAS. If you're out around downtown that evening, the green lighting is meant to spark conversations, encourage earlier diagnosis, and inspire residents to show support by wearing green or sharing information.

4. 2026 Governor's Buy Local Cookout Returns to Government House for a Delicious Evening of Local Foods (maryland.gov) β Government House in Annapolis just hosted the Governor's Buy Local Cookout, spotlighting dozens of Maryland farms, seafood producers, and restaurants. The event, postponed from summer due to wildfire smoke, highlighted how choosing local food supports jobs, the state's seafood industry, and small producers, with vendors like Annapolis Oyster Company among those featured.
